Reserve dining schedule to remain in effect
Effective May 4, Tinker Air Force Base Reservists will receive their meals in Café 3001 and Golden Corral, until the renovation of the Vanwey Dining Facility is complete in the fall.

UTA Dining Schedule:
Breakfast: 0530-0700
Location: Café 3001, located at on the south end of the Bldg. 3001 in Area C

Lunch: 1100-1330
Location: Café 3001, located at on the south end of the Bldg. 3001 in Area C

Dinner *Saturday ONLY: 1630-1830
Location: Golden Corral, located at 617 S. Air Depot Blvd


Always ready: Message from the commander
Col. Miles Heaslip, 507th Air Refueling Wing commander, discusses the importance of wartime preparation and readiness March 25, 2019, at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma. The 507th Air Refueling Wing's unit effectiveness inspection capstone event is scheduled for Nov. 15-19, 2019.
 

Wing bids farewell to vice commander
Col. Dana Nelson, 507th Air Refueling Wing vice commander, will bid farewell to the Okie family here May 5, 2019, to serve as the mobilization assistant to the J-8 Director, Resources and Assessment, Headquarters U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, Hawaii.


Fueling falcons in flight
Four 138th Fighter Wing F-16 Fighting Falcons from Tulsa Air National Guard Base, Oklahoma, refuel from a KC-135R Stratotanker April 25, 2019. The Stratotanker, from the 507th Air Refueling Wing at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, refueled four 138th Fighter Wing F-16 Fighting Falcons during flight operations over Kansas.
 

507th ARW – We’ve got an App for that
The 507th Air Refueling Wing here in coordination with Air Force Reserve Command launched the new Air Force Connect mobile application March allowing Reservists to access unit information and online tools on the go.

The app, which is available on both iOS and Android platforms, has a main Air Force page and can be customized by adding additional organizations in the favorite’s area. For Reservists here at Tinker AFB, they just need to add the 507th ARW as a favorite to unlock all the local features.
 

The Air Force core values and how we look at them
Commentary by Lt. Col. Darryl McLean, 72nd Aerial Port Squadron commander

Becoming the commander of the 72nd Aerial Port Squadron was one of the greatest opportunities in my life, as well as my career. Initially, I had concerns about how it would all work out, considering I was a finance officer cross-training into logistics.

The answer came in the form of the Air Force core values. ‘Integrity first, service before self and excellence in all we do’ is not just a slogan to remember and repeat; it is also a fantastic guideline for how we should carry out our Air Force career.
 

Air Force senior leaders update OCP uniform guidance
The Air Force announced April 23 new rules on Operational Camouflage Pattern uniforms that aim to better fit the needs of Airmen and the jobs they do while also holding fast to tradition.

The changes highlighted include authorization of the two-piece Flight Duty Uniform in garrison and updated patch guidance for the OCP uniform.

The 507th Air Refueling Wing commander, Col. Miles Heaslip, handed the 507th Maintenance Group command guidon to Lt. Col. Karwin Weaver at an assumption of command ceremony here April 7, 2019.
 

HQ ARPC reduces retirement order processing time
Headquarters Air Reserve Personnel Center concentrated efforts during the month of February to reduce the inventory of retirement applications for Guard and Reserve members turning 60 years of age.

ARPC’s top ten things to know about AGR assignments
Recently, the Chief of Air Force Reserve approved changes to the Active Guard Reserve program which are expected to be implemented later this year in September. (Click on this link for the Feb. 12 news release.)

The implementation of the new policy is expected to take place with the publishing of a new Air Force Instruction. Until the new policy is published, here are the top ten things Airmen should know or can expect with the new program.

Scobee testifies before Senate Appropriations Committee
Lt. Gen. Richard Scobee, chief of the Air Force Reserve and Air Force Reserve Command commander, joined his counterparts from the Army, Navy, Marine and National Guard, April 10, in front of the Senate Appropriations Committee’s defense subcommittee on Capitol Hill to testify on the fiscal year 2020 budget request for the National Guard and Reserve.

Chairman Richard Shelby (R- Alabama) began by stressing the importance of the Guard and Reserve components to be sufficiently manned, trained and equipped to maintain and defend our national security interest.
