B-2 raises spirits at Tinker
A B-2 Spirit assigned to the 509th Bomb Wing at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, flew to Tinker for a static aircraft tour for 350 civilians and contractors at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, July 30, 2021. More than 700 personnel support the operational mission of the aircraft and the tour allowed them to see the jet in real life and meet the pilots and maintenance crew of the aircraft they sustain and improve until its eventual sunset.

Tinker installation commander updates mask policy
Following Department of Defense guidelines, 72nd Air Base Wing and Tinker Installation Commander Col. G. Hall Sebren Jr. has updated the mask policy at Tinker Air Force Base due to rising coronavirus infection rates in both the local area and state.

Congressman Cole visits Tinker
U.S. Rep. Tom Cole, Oklahoma District 4, visited Tinker Air Force Base Aug. 3, 2021. Cole visited to get mission updates from Tinker organizations including the Air Force Sustainment Center, Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex, 552nd Air Control Wing, 72nd ABW, 507th Air Refueling Wing and the U.S. Navy’s Strategic Communications Wing ONE.

Kendall sworn in as 26th Secretary of the Air Force
Frank Kendall was administratively sworn in July 28 as the 26th Secretary of the Air Force, placing him as the department’s civilian leader responsible for organizing, training, equipping and ensuring the welfare of nearly 700,000 Airmen, Guardians and their families.  He replaces John Roth, who served as the Acting Air Force Secretary for the last six months.

Department of the Air Force approves special leave accrual for fiscal year 2021
Air Force and Space Force members performing active service, and Reserve and Guard Airmen on Title 10 or Title 32 orders, can now accrue up to 120 days of annual leave for fiscal year 2021 instead of the typical 60 days of leave.

Sebren takes command of 72nd Air Base Wing

The Wildcatters of the 72nd Air Base Wing welcomed a new commander on June 25, 2021. Col. G. Hall Sebren, Jr. accepted command of the wing from Air Force Sustainment Center Commander Lt. Gen. Gene Kirkland during a ceremony at the Tinker Event Center.

The 507th Air Refueling Wing has rescheduled family day until April 2022. Family day is an annual event designed to give families of Okies the opportunity to enjoy aircraft static displays, food and fun.

Public Health COVID vaccine clinic to be held 20 Aug
Public Health is hosting a COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic with the health department on Friday, 20 August 2021, at the Occupational Medicine Flight (OMF), Bldg 3334, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the OMF building in the old audiogram room. Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson (J&J) Janssen vaccines will be available. Youths aged 12 to 17 are eligible for the Pfizer vaccine but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Recommendations:

  1. Call Public Health at (405) 582-6542 or  582-6297 to reserve vaccine time slot or if you have questions
  2. Email: usaf.tinker.72-mdg.mbx.72-mdg-sgpm-public-health@mail.mil to reserve vaccine time slot or if you have questions
  3. If accompanying a child aged 12 to 17, please bring ID
  4. Wear a mask to the shot line

Additional Information:

  1. Vaccines are free to public
  2. Individuals aged 12 and up are eligible for vaccination
  3. Open to anyone needing first or second vaccine dose
  4.    J&J Janssen vaccine is one shot; a second dose is not needed
  5.   Another clinic will be offered in September 2021.

Automated Lodging Registration System is online
FSS excited to inform you that the Automated Lodging Registration System (ALRS) mobile app is now online to make lodging reservations and cancellations for primary UTAs. Currently, rescheduling lodging via the app is not possible.

If you are currently registered in ALRS with your cell phone number, you will receive a text message Oct. 23 with instructions to enroll in the mobile app, but it is recommended users set up the app in advance to ease the process. The app is available for download on Google play store for android users and the app store for Apple users. Finally, if you make your reservation in ALRS Mobile do not use the dial-in if you require a change or cancellation.
