The 552 AMXS and 507/513/35 Reserves battled neck and neck for two halves until Reserves missed a corner 3-pointer in the last seconds to leave AMXS with a 42-40 victory.

The intramural teams traded the lead and were within two points of each other Feb. 17 for much of the game at the Gerrity Fitness Center.

The Reserves' Brian Watson led scoring with 23 points. He hit five baskets beyond the arc. Sean Masser followed Watson with nine points.

Keith Collins led the Aircraft Maintenance Squadron with 17 points, including two 3-pointers. Justin Durso logged nine points on the board.

Impressive plays included a first-half interception by AMXS' Kelton Millhouse. He hit Collins down-court, who drove into the paint and shot under the basket. The ball wobbled off the hoop, where Durso grabbed it and sunk the score.

Watson was deadly outside the perimeter in the first half as he scored four of his five 3-pointers.

Reserves gained a lead at the half, stretching it to 32-27 in the first five minutes. AMXS gained it back 36-34 at 8:50. The squads tied twice before the slim win at the buzzer.
