Thunderbirds practice routine prior to the upcoming airshow Published June 20, 2014 By Senior Airman Mark Hybers 507 Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds arrived at Tinker AFB Thursday June 19, 2014 two days before the first scheduled airshow here in more than four years. Pilots from the Thunderbirds performed part of their show during practice runs Thursday and Friday afternoon while spectators from all over the base and outside the base looked on. Along with the Thunderbirds, a KC-135R Stratotanker from the 507th Air Refueling Wing will be set up as a static display for the public to tour. Several other aircraft will also be on display as well. The 507th will also be part of the aerial show with a KC-135R fly over scheduled. During the airshow, parts of Tinker AFB will be off limits so a sanitation box can be set up for the safety of the spectators. Members of the 72ABW Security Forces Squadron ask that spectators and military alike follow the rules of the sanitation box. If anyone is caught moving in and out of these areas, the airshow will be stopped immediately. Gates for the event open to the public at 9 Saturday and Sunday. Shuttles will be running approximately every 10 minutes as parking will fill quickly.
