Force Support Squadron, Financial Management relocate to enhance customer service

TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- In an effort to improve customer service and ease of access, many sections of the 507th Force Support Squadron were relocated to Building 1048, Room 112.

The new first-floor location ensures that retirees and Reservists can obtain identification cards and Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System services more easily.  

"The move is important as we are making multiple changes to improve our customer service," said Maj. Patrick Mitchell, 507th FSS commander.

The biggest impact to customers is the relocation of the Military Personnel Section.  The MPS provides military personnel services and programs for Reservists, their families and military retirees. MPS manages a wide range of programs that impact each individual's career to include: ID cards, DEERS, citizenship, special leave, temporary duty assignments, promotions, retirements, awards and decorations and Service Group Life Insurance services.

Many customers include local retirees in the Oklahoma area, so location is everything.

"We've helped approximately 25,000 customers and issued over 6,000 common access cards and dependent ID cards last year," said Mitchell. "Our old location was on the second floor which presented some issues for some of our customers."

The MPS took over the former 507th Services Flight Office, causing Services to relocate to the second floor of Building 1043.
  
Along with physical moves, phone numbers changed as well. The MPS can be reached at 739-4293 or e-mail at 507msf.dpmsc@us.af.mil.  MPS hours of operations are: CAC/ID Cards and DEERS Updates : Monday-Friday (7:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.); Military Personnel Section (Force Mgt, Career Advisor, Career Development, etc.) Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and Thursday 7:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

The FSS's civilian personnel office moved within building 1043 down to the first floor, room 111. 

Additionally, the Financial Management Office moved down the hall in building 1043 to occupy the old MPS location (Room 203).  While this move was not far, it provided a better location for customer service for Reserve members. The new location will include an instructional briefing room and more workstations for filing travel vouchers. The FM customer service phone number is now 734-7494.
