Major Robert C. Baird recently received the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal. The major distinguished himself by outstanding achievement as Lead Security Forces Advisor, 438th Air Expeditionary Group, 438th Air Expeditionary Wing, Combined Air Power Transition Force, Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan. Among other accomplishments, Major Baird led a team of three Security Forces advisors ensuring the force protection of the Afghan Air Corps’ 50 man team at the Kandahar Detachment while simultaneously mentoring the Corps to provide its own force protection capabilities. He established new force protection measures for the compound and oversaw the installation of multiple security systems. Presenting the award is 507th Air Refueling Wing commander Col. Jeffery R. Glass.

TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Oklahoma -- Major Robert C. Baird has recently received the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal.

According to the accompaning citation, the major distinguished himself by outstanding achievement as Lead Security Forces Advisor, 438th Air Expeditionary Group, 438th Air Expeditionary Wing, Combined Air Power Transition Force, Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan.
