Senior Master Sgt. James Young receives Air Force Meritorious Medal

Senior Master Sergeant James A. Young of the 507th Air Refueling Wing was recently awarded a Meritorious Service Medal.

The Air Force reservist lives in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. While on reserve duty he is a Structures Superintenden with the wing's Civil Engineer Squadron.

Sergeant Young eagerly volunteered to be a mentor for the Field Engineering Readiness Laboratory located at the United States Air Force Academy. Assigned as the project lead instructor for residential and light commercial construction standards, his team of instructors led 35 cadets through a grueling five-week course; there he and his team provided functional expertise to future Air Force officers. 

In addition Young deployed in support of Exercise PATRIOT SOONER, where he flawlessly assumed the duties of the Superintendent of Operations in the Damage Control Center.
