TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- 507th Air Refueling Wing leadership announced today that the Jun 1-2 Unit Training Assembly will be formally canceled due to the effects of the tornados that hit the area on May 19th and 20th.
Members are authorized to liberally reschedule the performance of their UTA periods any time prior to 30 Sept 2013. Reschedules (RUTA) have to be requested prior to 1 Jun 2013 with the specific date you plan to perform the UTA makeup periods. If a date is not known at this time, member may request to be excused and authorized EQT makeup dates. Members not desiring to makeup this UTA are to be excused.
"Many unit personnel have been affected by the devastating tornados...even more have family and friends that have been affected," Col. Russell Muncy, 507th ARW commander said in a memo. "It is my desire to provide maximum flexibility to enable these personnel to continue to work towards re-establishing and/or repairing property damaged residences."
As a result of the tornados, local lodging accommodations normally used by the 507th ARW personnel on a UTA weekend are needed for those displaced and personnel from out of state helping with cleanup and service restoration. For those still wishing to perform duty the weekend of June 1-2 may still do so with commander approval, however lodging may not be available and no wing or support group services will be provided.
