TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- All members of the public are invited to attend a public hearing scheduled at 5 p.m. Dec. 6 in Midwest City regarding possible environmental impacts associated with the potential bed down of KC-46A tanker aircraft at Tinker Air Force Base.
The public hearing is scheduled to be held at the Sheraton Midwest City Hotel Reed Conference Center, located at 5750 Will Rogers Rd. in Midwest City, Okla.
The venue is scheduled to open at 5 p.m., Air Force officials will conduct formal presentation from 5:30-6 p.m., and the floor will open for formal public testimony from 6:15-7:30 p.m. The venue will close at 8:00 p.m.
The Air Force has identified Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, North Carolina, as the preferred alternative for the new mission. Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, Grissom Air Reserve Base, Indiana, and Westover Air Reserve Base, Massachusetts, were selected as reasonable alternatives.
Base officials will be on hand to answer any questions the public may have.
