Colonel Rodney Bryan is the Commander, 507th Mission Support Group, 507th Air Refueling Wing, (507 ARW), Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma. The Wing reports to 4th Air Force and supports Air Mobility Command's air refueling and airlift requirements, including overseas deployment, in times of peace, war, and national emergency, as well as Federal Aviation Administration taskings within the United States and abroad. The 507 ARW is one of two Air Force Reserve flying units in Oklahoma. It currently flies the KC-135-R "Stratotanker" aircraft and, as an associate unit, the FAA's British Aerospace BAE 125/800 "Hawker."
As Commander of the 507th Mission Support Group, Colonel Bryan's leadership responsibilities include the 507th Civil Engineering Squadron, 72nd Aerial Port Squadron, 35th Combat Communications Squadron, 507th Logistics Readiness Squadron, 507th Security Forces Squadron, 507th Mission Support Flight, 507th Services Flight, and the 507th Communications Flight.
Colonel Bryan was born in Cambridge, Md., and was commissioned in the Air Force in 1975 as a graduate of the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore, through the Reserve Officer Training Corps. He entered the Air Force as a transportation officer and has held various positions in base transportation, aerial port and mobile aerial port units, as well as plans and programs. He entered the Air Force Reserve in 1987 as individual mobilization augmentee to the commander, 836th Transportation Squadron, Davis-Monthan AFB, Ariz.
In June 1990, he joined the 459th Airlift Wing, Andrews AFB, Md., as an air reserve technician, where he served as the chief of logistics plans. He transferred to the 932nd Airlift Wing, Scott AFB, Ill., in April 1993, where he served as chief of wing plans.
