MESSAGES FROM AIR FORCE LEADERS

Airmen and Guardians,                                                                                                                       June 29, 2022

The Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization decision by the Supreme Court on Friday has the potential for significant implications for you and your families.

The Department of the Air Force remains steadfast in its responsibility to comply with applicable law while meeting our commitment to caring for you and ensuring we remain a robust, resilient, and ready force.

We are working closely with the Department of Defense to review the ruling as well as the implications on our service members.

The Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness Memorandum (Attachment 1) provides relevant details on the immediate impacts.

This is a complex time for our Nation and as further analysis becomes available, we will provide updates as quickly and completely as possible.

Please understand that we remain dedicated to ensuring you and your families have the care and support needed.

One Team, One Fight!

Airmen and Guardians,                                                                                                                                  June 16, 2022

Juneteenth is a day of profound weight and power to recognize both the moral stain of slavery and remind us of our incredible capacity to persevere, heal, and progress.

While this is only the second year Juneteenth has been celebrated as a federal holiday, its historical significance and celebrations date back over 150 years.  We encourage all of you to reflect on the magnitude of this holiday by learning about its origin in 1865 along with its long journey to federal recognition.

This holiday represents an opportunity to celebrate decades of hope and courage.  We appreciate the crucial conversations occurring across the Department and recognize there is more work required to ensure justice, equality, and inclusion.

As always, we are incredibly proud of each and every one of you.  Thank you for all you do to keep us safe and to allow our Nation to continue improving.

One Team, One Fight!
